CINQAIR is an add-on maintenance medicine for adults 18 years of age and older with a type of severe asthma

If you have asthma that is not well controlled by your current treatments, CINQAIR could be right for you. Used with other treatments, CINQAIR is a medicine for adults with severe, poorly controlled asthma who have eosinophil levels that are high. CINQAIR can reduce the number of these cells. CINQAIR has been proven to prevent asthma attacks (exacerbations) and help patients breathe better. It may also help you have fewer asthma symptoms and improve your quality of life.

See the illustration below to learn how CINQAIR is thought to reduce eosinophil levels. The mechanism of action of CINQAIR is not fully understood.

How CINQAIR May Help

CINQAIR was studied in certain people with severe, poorly controlled asthma. These people had a higher-than-normal level of eosinophils. When added to their other asthma treatments, CINQAIR improved symptoms as early as 4 weeks after starting treatment. Plus, improvements were seen through the end of the 1-year studies.

CINQAIR helped deliver 3 key effects:

Fewer Asthma Attacks

The majority of people who added CINQAIR to other asthma medicines did not have an asthma attack, compared with people who did not add CINQAIR.

  • As many as 3 in 4 people who added CINQAIR did not have an asthma attack for the entire year
  • In comparison, about half of people who did not add CINQAIR were free of asthma attacks

CINQAIR reduced asthma attacks that*:

  • Required use of oral corticosteroids
  • Resulted in visits to the hospital or emergency room
*No clinical studies have assesed reduction of maintenance corticosteroid dosages following use of CINQAIR.

Better Breathing

Lung function is a way doctors measure how well the lungs are working. In clinical studies, people who added CINQAIR had improved lung function test results, versus people who did not add CINQAIR to their asthma therapy.

Ask your doctor about your lung function test results so you know how well you are breathing.

Better symptom control and quality of life

People who added CINQAIR to their asthma therapy reported an overall better quality of life compared with those who did not add CINQAIR. In addition, people who added CINQAIR experienced better symptom control than people who did not add CINQAIR to their treatment plan.

As measured by the Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire and the Asthma Control Questionnaire-7. These tools assess the physical and emotional impact of asthma and how well asthma is controlled.

What is CINQAIR?

CINQAIR is a prescription medicine used with other asthma medicines for the maintenance treatment of asthma in people aged 18 years of age and older whose asthma is not controlled with the current asthma medicines. When added to other medicines for asthma, CINQAIR helps prevent severe asthma attacks (exacerbations) and can improve your breathing. Medicines such as CINQAIR reduce blood eosinophils. Eosinophils are a type of white blood cell that may contribute to your asthma.

  • CINQAIR is not used to treat other problems caused by eosinophils.
  • CINQAIR is not used to treat sudden breathing problems.

It is not known if CINQAIR is safe and effective in children less than 18 years of age.

Do not receive CINQAIR if you are allergic to reslizumab or any of the ingredients in CINQAIR.

See the Full Prescribing Information for a complete list of ingredients in CINQAIR.

Before receiving CINQAIR, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • have or have had cancer (malignancy).
  • have a parasitic (helminth) infection.
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if CINQAIR will harm your unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you become pregnant during your treatment with CINQAIR.
